IK testen (Impact Protection Class)
Normative document IEC 62262 refers to the classification of the degrees of protection provided by enclosures against external mechanical impacts when the rated voltage of the protected equipment is not greater than 72,5 kV. This standard is only applicable to enclosures of equipment where the specific standard establishes degrees of protection of the enclosure against mechanical impacts (expressed in this standard as "impacts"). The Impact hammer tests carried out according to test standard IEC 60068-2-75.
With our impact hammer tests and strike elements we are now able to provide conformity with the following IK classifications:

Unless otherwise specified by the relevant specification, the blows shall be applied perpendicularly to the tested surface. In general, the degree of protection applies to the complete enclosure. If parts of the enclosure have different degrees of protection, the latter shall be indicated separately. Each enclosure under test shall be in a clean and new condition, complete with all its parts in place unless otherwise specified in the relevant product standard.
Specifications:
These tests are used to determine the level of protection provided by enclosures for electrical equipment against external mechanical impacts. These tests can be performed using either the spring hammer (IK01 - IK06), pendulum or vertical hammer methods.
